School Career Fair 2025
Opening Doors of Opportunity
On
27th September 2025, the Rotary and Rotaract Club of Bwebajja, together with
the Interact Club of Kisubi, brought together over 1,300 young learners for the
School Career Fair 2025 at Kisubi Schools along Kampala–Entebbe Road.
The fair was more than just an event it was a bridge between classrooms and
careers, giving students a glimpse of the possibilities that lie ahead.
In
Rotary, September is celebrated as Basic Education and Literacy Month, a
reminder that education is the foundation for opportunity and growth. For many
students in Uganda, career guidance is often limited, leaving them unaware of
the pathways and skills required to succeed in the job market. The Career Fair
addressed this gap by offering real-world exposure, mentorship, and direct
interaction with professionals from diverse fields.
The
project team, working hand in hand with the school administration, alumni, and
volunteers, organized a day-long program featuring industry experts,
exhibitors, and interactive sessions. Professionals shared their journeys in
medicine, law, engineering, entrepreneurship, the creative arts, and more.
Students not only heard inspiring stories but also asked questions, practiced
elevator pitches, and received feedback on how to prepare for life after
school.
The
impact was immediate and visible. For students, the fair provided career
exploration, first-hand insights into multiple professions, networking
opportunities with industry leaders, and practical preparation through tips on
resume building, leadership, and interview skills. Teachers gained access to
industry updates that can enrich classroom discussions, while parents and the
wider community were encouraged by the fresh motivation their children carried
home. Companies, too, discovered a pool of emerging talent—laying the
groundwork for internships and future employment.
What
makes the School Career Fair truly powerful is its sustainability. As an annual
collaboration between Rotary, Rotaract, Interact, and Kisubi Schools, the
initiative continues to evolve with student feedback and market trends. By
involving alumni and local employers, the project ensures that it remains
relevant, impactful, and deeply rooted in community needs.
The
School Career Fair 2025 proved that when young people are guided, inspired, and
equipped, their potential knows no bounds. With every handshake, every question
answered, and every dream validated, Rotary reaffirmed its commitment to
empowering the next generation helping students turn education into
opportunity, and opportunity into a brighter future.
